Water falls, maniacal laughing sounds and a demon-shaped rock formation:
Does Pasadena’s Devil’s Gate Dam also contain evil?
Lying just below the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains, the concrete flood control dam was completed in 1920, making it the oldest in L.A. County. It’s responsible for keeping the Arroyo Seco watershed at bay. Today, the structure’s road is closed to unauthorized vehicles but the haunting elements of its location, such as devil head-shaped rock formation at the base of the dam, all live on. Locals say the falls constantly beat evil, laughing sounds. Devil’s Gate now watches over NASA’s Jet Propulsion Lab (JPL) and the Foothill Freeway.
